Trinidelphia is Philly's preeminent Carribean Jazz combo, centering around multi-instrumentalist Chris Aschman's virtuosic work on the steelpan.
Biography
Born out of street Jams in Rittenhouse during the spring of 2005 between drummer Joe Truglio and steelpan player Chris Aschman, Trinidelphia came to life. Since then the group has gone on to develop unique arrangements of jazz and popular songs, casting the steelpan in a fresh new light and pushing the stylistic and artistic boundaries of an often type-cast instrument. Over the past decade they have performed on a multitude of stages both large and small, in Philadelphia, the Jersey Shore, New York City, Long Island, Deleware, Maryland, and beyond. Their self-titled release in 2013 documents their ever-developing style. Most recently, Chris' recent addition of the low-G tenor pan has added a new depth to their sound, as they look forward to further expanding and developing their repertoire of over 300 songs.
